¡Saludos a todos y a todas! Comenzamos el semestre académico con un nuevo ciclo de Fae investiga. En esta ocasión, tendremos al doctor Rafael Pérez Ramírez, de Gerencia, quien compartirá su investigación From Environmental Dynamism to Business Model Innovation in SMEs: The Mediating Roles of Strategic Entrepreneurship and Organizational Ambidexterity in the Digital Era.
In the contemporary landscape of rapid technological and market shifts, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are under mounting pressure to adapt and innovate to sustain competitiveness. Environmental dynamism, defined by instability and swift changes in the business milieu, compels SMEs to cultivate strategic capabilities that facilitate not only survival but also prosperity.
Organizational ambidexterity—the capacity to balance the exploitation of existing resources with the exploration of new opportunities—and strategic entrepreneurship are considered pivotal in this process. Nevertheless, a research gap persists concerning how these factors interact to drive business model innovation within SMEs, particularly in the context of digital transformation. This study aims to investigate the influence of environmental dynamism on business model innovation in SMEs, with strategic entrepreneurship and organizational ambidexterity serving as mediating variables. Furthermore, it will examine the critical role of firms’ digital orientation and capabilities within this framework.
